Harris Girls Academy in southeast London was looking to incorporate a striking video wall solution in the double-height atrium entrance area of the humanities block. They wanted to facilitate the daily communication of success stories, blog updates and digital messaging. Aesthetics were important due to the brickwork mounting surface that was tough for concealing cables. They wanted content to be easy to update and optimum brightness and contrast for the high levels of daylight.
Harris Federation is a leading not-for-profit charity with more than 25 years of experience in education in the London area.
MCS Ltd of West Sussex came equipped with the ConnexSys Video Wall Mounting System for the nine displays. Cabling was managed behind the system and routed through the wall to a wall-mounted communications cabinet on the other side. This facilitated a consolidation hub for digital signage, audio amplification and system control hardware.
“We are very pleased with the video wall solution at HADG and it is used daily by the Academy for a variety of communication purposes. The integration by MCS together with the choice of displays and mounting system makes for a high impact architectural feature within the space it occupies,” said Robin Baker, Head of IT Projects at Harris Federation
MCS will be installing similar video walls across a number of Academies over the next two years.
